Sample graphs as generated by Wgraph, a MediaWiki extension for graph drawing. Images courtesy of Gero Scholz.
Wgraph is a powerful visualization instrument for wikis. It allows users to define graphs on wiki pages using a simple yet powerful notation called WGL (Wiki Graph Language). The visualization is automatically handled by aiSee on the server side, and the output images in PNG or SVG format are immediately displayed on the wiki page. Nodes in SVG images can be mapped with hyperlinks.
When used in combination with the DPL MediaWiki extension, Wgraph also enables automatic visualization of structural aspects of a wiki (such as article dependencies, category intersections, etc.) as a wikigraph. In a wikigraph, articles map to nodes, categories map to nodetypes and relations are automatically deduced from template calls or hypertext references.
