aiSee for Unix: User Manual<>index

Auxiliaries (User Actions)

The concept of user actions allows to execute system commands from within aiSee. Up to four commands can be specified in the graph description. The Auxilliaries submenu enables these commands to be accessed. To execute the commands specified in the GDL specification, choose one of the submenu entries or press one of the keys '1', '2', '3', or '4'. The commands differ in the way that command line arguments are supplied to the command:

  • User Action 1 and 2 take no arguments
  • User Action 3 requires one node to be selected as argument
  • User Action 4 requires a set of nodes to be selected as arguments

Ruler

Selecting Ruler in the main menu causes the vertical and horizontal rulers at the margins of the display window to be turned off and on. This can also be done by pressing the 'r' key. The rulers show the absolute coordinates of the virtual window in the coordinate system. The ruler does not work for fish-eye views.
