The nodes belonging to a folded group are hidden. They are represented by a single node called the summary node. Summary nodes are usually drawn in a different shape and/or color (see GDL in a Nutshell), so that they can be recognized and selected for the reverse operation.

Summary nodes

A summary node represents all the nodes of a group that was folded dynamically, i.e. by a folding operation, or statically, i.e. in the graph specification (see GDL in a Nutshell). A summary node can be selected and

  • Unfolded (menu item Unfold/Unbox or press the 'u' key),
  • Unfolded into a box (Unfold into Box or 'x'),
  • Unfolded and represented as a cluster (Unfold into Cluster or 't'),
  • Unfolded and wrapped (Unfold and Wrap or 'w'),
  • Drawn exclusively (Exclusive)
